i think if you locate your light first it will help lots eg is the light low or high is the light in front or behind and if you light up characters that way with big basic forms it will help. Hope this helps

I would like to just say that while this one of my are first times rendering a character, i still find it hard to locate the light source or even create one. And the rendering for the drapery back cloth isnt how i expected it , if anyone could give me tips on what to think of or improve, it would make my day

Something feels off; I'm quite spotty with the hands. But I'm also a bit iffy with the feet. The shadow creature behind her has a rather stiff pose in comparison to the front character as well. Your feedback will be appreciated! :)

Character rendering and lighting

Hi, I am struggling to figure out how to shade my character and his clothes especially with the color black that I used for the jacket. I haven't really decided on a light source, but ideally it's coming from the left side of him. Considering the materials as well I wanted it to be a cloth like material for the jacket and regular jeans. I would appreciate any help and input on this thanks.
