I’m designing this character, she’s ten years old and plays for a soccer team. One of the struggles I’m having is figuring out how I can make the characters shape language more interesting. Additionally I’m trying to solve how i can add details to this character that can make it stand out and show her personality, despite her still being apart of a team and wearing a uniform. If some personality traits could help for feedback suggestions, she’s outgoing, obnoxious, and spontaneous.

Something feels off; I'm quite spotty with the hands. But I'm also a bit iffy with the feet. The shadow creature behind her has a rather stiff pose in comparison to the front character as well. Your feedback will be appreciated! :)

Character rendering and lighting

Hi, I am struggling to figure out how to shade my character and his clothes especially with the color black that I used for the jacket. I haven't really decided on a light source, but ideally it's coming from the left side of him. Considering the materials as well I wanted it to be a cloth like material for the jacket and regular jeans. I would appreciate any help and input on this thanks.
