I think making the background darker and the character outline will help, mostly because I can’t really see any visual points with your character. My eyes are drawn to the electric type background, so if you make the background less of a visual point and put something to draw the eyes of the person looking at it to where you want them to look, it could help. Also the colors are really good, but both the red and orange look like warm colors so they kind of blend into each other. But either way, this is just an opinion.
