First, decide where the main source of light is coming from, how large and powerful it is. I also like to add a secondary weaker source of light. (The soft moon light) Don’t be afraid to slap on shadows. What is more important than rendering is first knowing where the shadows go. Example, because the light here is a strong orange light, we should have very dark shadows underneath the cowboys’ chins.
