I think you really challenged yourself with this piece. Your foreshortening, the design and then also all the enfironment with it! Looking at it tho, it's a bit hard to read that she's a mermaid. Is there a way to show the tail more? I would just work on her details and maybe some interesting light, maybe you can find a good reference with light you can apply. I pushed and blurred the background to the back. I found an image looking up in an ocean and applied those beams. I adjusted her arm a bit and added fore ground. Also the color red is the first color to fall off when going deep under water because of Tyndall scattering. For the environment I would just make it extremely subtle so you don't need to pay a lot of attention to that. In the foreground I would add some silhouetes of coral or kelps.
