This is the main teaching of the introduction to drawing roadmap from Artwod. The method teached boils down to those steps: 1. Deconstruct the reference into simple 3D forms. 2. Create your own puzzle pieces instead of copying another artist's method. 3. Make a graphic representation noting what's iconic and where elements sit. 4. Do studies from reference, focusing on proportions. 5. Repeat many studies to internalize the forms. 6. Draw from imagination in a new pose to force working from memory.
