Hey! Nice job here! You already have a solid base imo :D However, I'd recommend continuing to work on your drawing skills as well. It's one of those fundamentals that you'll eventually need to develop, no matter what. Now, one downside of painting directly with shapes is that you already need to have a good understanding of lighting. That way, even when working with just two values, you can still suggest volume as you paint. Otherwise, you'll likely spend more time going back and correcting things later. There's nothing wrong with working this way; in fact, it's something I should probably practice more myself, but I do think it's a more advanced approach. Anyway... that's not what you asked, haha. When painting with simple shapes, keep the body's landmarks in mind and pay attention to how each part of the body aligns in perspective. You can draw guide lines like I did to keep the lengths of the arms, legs, and other body parts consistent. I also like using arrows to indicate the direction of the feet, then gradually "sculpting" the figure while following those guides. Most importantly, give yourself the time to practice this way. Trying to learn these concepts while rushing against the clock usually isn't the best approach. Hope this helps! :) | Artwod Feedback
