I find it hard to draw linearly. I prefer working with masses. When I draw without a ref, it's difficult for me to control the proportions. I can feel when the proportions go off, but fixing them takes way too much time. A 5-minute sketch turns into 20 minutes just trying to correct the proportions. It feels like it shouldn't be this way. How can I keep proportions under control when working from a masses?
