Hi hi! Nice style! Also well done on framing! Personally I wouldn't touch this artwork too much with colors since I think this is a nice balance! You have black n white at front and colored backgrounds (it bounces really nice!). In my opinion, the blue background fits better to represent him taking a bath as he dreams of food. You can have light shapes of bubble in background if you with but keep things simple due to front being very detailed. Next would be linework. Everything is equal so to break that, have a variety of lineweight. From thin to thick, you can play around where to give the most focus. Usually we spend more time with focal points such as face and hand while rest needs to compliment that. It may vary from case to case but usually it goes like that when our subject is a figure (or creature). If you want to have colors,I would say have a flat layer and one shadow layer (core) in multiply. You can always push render forward but since you have good linework,it's worth putting it in the spotlight!. Hope it helps!
