Hey there! For now, I’d strongly recommend focusing primarily on the human figure so you can improve the proportions, body perspective, and anatomy overall And alongside that, perspective itself. More specifically, focus on learning how to construct the body using simple forms, the mannequin approach. This will help you build more proportional figures, stronger body construction and a better perspective understanding. This way you avoid thinking about more complex shapes like the muscle. Learning muscles it's like the 20% of the knowledge. Even a very simple foundation using boxes and cylinders can be enough to successfully “dress” the character later. Notice that in my example, by constructing the body with simple forms alone, I’ve already solved about 60% of the drawing. After that, the remaining work is mostly like refining the design, improving line quality, adding flat colors while the line drawing, or applying simple shadow mapping by blocking in the major shadow shapes Once you’ve strengthened this area, you can then move on to drawing characters within full scenes, where you can begin focusing more on, values (the true foundation of painting), color and lighting and so on. I mention it this way because both areas are complex, and the most effective approach is usually to learn one solidly before heavily focusing on the other.
