Great work 👍, looks like the lufy from live action series! For the proportions part, i brlieve that you already got the proportions quite correct, but i would suggest you to work rather on posing then to proportions right now as it seems like more of a high leverage point for you. For shadow, i see that you have already got some form turn shadows which are already conveying some 3d information about the subject. For further progress though, you would need a deeper understanding of the forms and form turn as the next stage is form turn indication. To advance from this stage, we must firstly known, and then indicate the form turns of the curved planes of our subject by using differing values. So, first i would suggest you to go back to form and turns in form planes. Then i want you to do something called a " 3 value study" . This is a study of the shadows of our subject in just 3 values . 1 . Cast shadow, complete dark h. 2. Mid value, that is used to indicate a form that is facing slightly away from light source, but not complete dark. This is the one you have already used. 3. Highlights, the parts which receives the highest amount of light from the source. That's the "What to do", now for " How to " apply shadow in our artwork, we first need to set and visualise a light source, which for starter, single plane light sources ( imagined as a flat plane light source, not bulb ) is the best. Think of thr exact position of the light source and the angle at which it is set. Now we want to draw our form ( luffy, in this case ). Now we could compare the relative angle of plane that we are applying shadow on and the light source that we have just imagined. For a general rule of thumb, just think " Is it turning away so much that it , does not recieve any light (cast shadow) , or recieves partial light ( mid value ) or , recieves hights light possible (highlight) ?. And as you gets more experience , you could do this for not only body, but also for very slight plane changes of the face , and also expand your value range from 3 to higher numbers ( although remember , that less is more in this case )
