Hello! Love the playful aspect in the artwork! In order to push render, start with basic set up: 1. Separate values for each element (dress and hat, shoes, skin and puppets). You want to avoid having everything in same value range because then it makes picture hard to read. To check up if you are doing correctly, switch between grayscale and colour. 2. Placement of a light source- we can see it comes from right side so make sure you focus on forms that are facing the light. Ambient light from sky can be added later but very lightly so it doesn't clashes with main light source on the right. 3. Pick the style of render- what you have now is called cell shading and its a first step to painterly style. You can mix two mentioned styles with bit of blending and leaving graphical light source. I would recommend picking either graphical approach (cell shading) or painterly style for easy learning. 4. Adding textures to materials: on lighten forms indicate material texture (shiny dress and hat, dull puppets etc.). On focal form points it should be indicted stronger then on the ones in the shadow. Be careful to not overdo it! These are base guides, hope it helped! Keep up improving! :D
