Hi hi! Creatures are cool to draw! Now to help you out: To find out which side of the body is illuminated and where the shadow falls, establish the direction and intensity (e.g., sharp light vs. diffused light). To map shadows in accordance with the shape of animal body, make sure you have references of them on the side. Before shading, outline the cast shadow on the surface and the form shadow on the object. The edge of the object where light no longer strikes is typically where the core shadow, or darkest portion, is located. Make a gradient between the highlighted area and the dark shadow. Recall that an object's edge is frequently slightly lighter due to reflected light, which separates it from the darkest core shadow. Using a variety of mark-making techniques, such as hatching, adjusting pencil pressure, to set textures in drawings. Hope it helps!
