Wow, that is so pretty! You already have such a beautiful way of rendering those folds! Also the body under the clothing feels quite natural and beautifully stylized as well. Your use of value is also amazing; there is so much threedimensionality to this. My main suggestion would be that you would benefit a lot from doing some studies centered exclusively on folds! The more you understand how the forces of tension and compression act on fabric, the easier it will be for your folds to help tell the story your piece wants to convey. I've attached some quick visual feedback so the skirt reads a little more clearly. On your model, you have three little clusters of diaper folds. Diaper folds originate from two points of tension, slope towards each other in broad sweeping graceful curves, and meet in the middle of the piece of fabric in a loose "U" shape. I've marked where I see those tension points in your source image; I've also indicated which folds I see originating from each tension point. (I'm marking the blue ones a different color just to tell their source apart from the neighboring folds that stem from a different tension point slightly below.) Over your painting, I'm also gently ghosting how I might have tried to approach those folds. In my view, the key is to subtly (but clearly enough) trace each fold back to its tension point; that tends to really sell the illusion of fabric that is obeying the forces of gravity, compression and tension as they act upon it. | Artwod Feedback
