Hello! I'm guessing this is Asgore, right? I'm excited for the next chapter too, lol. Firstly, I think it would help a lot for you to clean up your lines before anything else -- it makes it look less busy. My biggest advice to you would be to be more intentional with your shading. Instead of thinking of rendering as simply "adding shadows", think of it as defining your forms. It's a way to give the viewer more information, like "Hey, this thing is made of this material" or "this is in front of that". So, when shading something like his fur for example, think about how you can convey the texture... rather than just thinking, "I want to add texture!" think, "I want to make this look more fluffy and soft". This makes it easier to find resources to help you too. Also for a complicated design like this with many different elements on top of each other, you can use shadow harshness to visually separate stuff and make it feel more put together. For example, the shoulder pads don't really feel like they're sitting on top of the fur, but then if you add strong shadow right underneath it, it feels much more clear. Then for things that need more broader shadow, it helps to add some mid-tones (like on the legs). (Probably there's a good Artwod lesson on this) To further separate different parts from each other, like the scissors from the rest of his body, you can use thicker lineart to make it more clear. I hope this was helpful in some way!! Your art is very cool!!!
