First off, the style is amazing, but I think part of the reason the hair feels off is because the background is white. As for your question about working professionally, I don't think there's enough information here to give a definite answer since this is only a portrait, and there are so many different roles in the illustration industry. If you can draw characters like this in full illustrations, from different perspectives, with strong anatomy, environments, and storytelling, then I'd definitely say you're on the right track. If portraits are all you can do, it would be much harder to judge your readiness based on this alone. Personally, though, I could definitely see a character like this in a professional webtoon.
