Hey! This is a really brilliant concept. Translating an ornate flintlock pistol into a mechanical character is such a creative prompt, and you've captured that classic, aristocratic vibe perfectly! I did a quick paintover to share a few tips on how you can push the elegance and structural logic of the design even further: The Regal Pose & The Warp Tool: To really sell that aristocratic, regal attitude, I wanted to lean heavily into a tall, thin, and elegant silhouette. A great trick for this is using the warp tool to experiment with proportions! I used it to stretch the character out, pushing the chest up and narrowing the waist. Giving him that proud, elongated posture instantly makes him feel more imposing and regal. Indicating the Joints: When designing mechanical characters, it’s always super helpful to think about the structural logic of the limbs. In the redrawn version, I tried to clearly indicate how the elbows and knees actually bend and connect. Showing the mechanics of those joints, even with just simple hinges or ball-joints, makes the design feel much more grounded and functional.
