Generic head practice

Practicing head construction but having trouble placing the features mainly the eyes are small when I draw them, like they look proportional to the face but when it comes to drawing it becomes messy with the pencil and I can't the iris and pupil with enough space and the mouth looks to far from the other features because I understand the mouth is supposed to align with the mouth or is my jaw too low?

The mouth is usually at the first thrid of the chin segment (purple) The ear might work better placed in the south east quadrant of the side of the head. (light blue)
