You should focus on making triangle shapes that follow the perspective of the eye like i have done a paintover on the left. On the right you can use a comic style eyelash which is similiar to anime like on the right. The eyes seem ok but you can use a guide line to center the eyes. A nice tip is to most of the time leave a ball of white reflection on the eyes.

I'm trying to draw a quick dreamy anime eye sketch with long eyelashes but it got heavy and looks super weird on her face. Am I adding too many strokes here? And the eye shape and proportions are still off I think. Any feedback on where I'm going wrong on this? Would really appreciate it!

Hi there! You're right, it can get very heavy very quickly this way. With eyelashes and hair in general, it's best to think in shapes rather than lines in anime. So cluster together a thicker upper lash line, and then draw a few lashes (as long as you'd want, though you don't need much to indicate long lashes) out from it like this. With the hair as well, draw in some bigger and smaller locks (shapes) of hair instead of only strands (lines). I hope this helps!! c:
