maybe the folds arent really the issue. the hip block reads flat, so if you draw the pelvis as a box first and hang the pleats off that edge the triangles start pointing somewhere. also fewer folds, thicker ones near the hem

I’ve been trying to sketch anime skirts but the folds dont make sense around the hips. They look like random triangles. I think my form and proportions are the problem. Using pencil.
