Hey! Good work so far. When using “artificial” lighting, such as fire, especially if the flames are not very intense, the light won’t fully illuminate the entire character. Instead, it will mainly affect the areas closest to the light source. For example, the upper part of the coat and the sleeves would receive more light. On the right side, the flame would mainly affect the face and part of the upper arm. Meanwhile, the lower half of the character would mostly remain in shadow. Keep in mind that you are the artist, which means you control the lighting. You decide how to guide the viewer’s eye toward the focal points, which is why it’s usually best to avoid illuminating the whole character evenly. Hope this helps! | Artwod Feedback
