Hello there! One thing I would recommend is avoiding flat shapes and focusing more on suggesting volume. This applies particularly to the way you drew the hair and the beard. Notice how I approached the hair. Without adding a lot of detail, the volume reads much more clearly. Instead of drawing only the overall silhouette and then filling it with lines, try thinking about the larger forms first and how they occupy space. The same idea applies to the beard. Even though I didn’t add as much volume as I did with the hair, it no longer feels like a flat shape attached to the face. Hope this helps!
