I really like how the portrait is looking! The only thing is that I’m not sure what the person actually looks like, so please forgive me if I end up changing something. Part of the issue was with the values, which felt a bit muted, but also with the skin tone and the indication of planes. For example, the cheek looked somewhat flat because there wasn’t enough contrast between the lit area and the area in shadow. Also, try defining the eyes a bit more. Indicate the eyelids (even if they’re subtle, they’re usually noticeable), and also the lower part of the eyes. This will help give more volume to that area and prevent it from looking flat. On another note, the skin could use more orange and reddish tones. Keep in mind that areas like the cheeks, nose, a bit of the chin, and places where the skin is thinner tend to appear more reddish because of the blood underneath the skin. You could also increase the intensity of the light a bit more so the face stands out better, and define the hair and its shape a little more. As for the clothing, try to avoid using completely black colors. Instead, you could play with dark bluish or purplish hues, it will add more dynamism to the darker areas. Hope this helps!
