Hey there! There are two factors that are causing you to miss the foreshortening. First, look at the angle of the face. It’s slightly tilted to the side and leaning back (the camera lens also makes it appear a bit more exaggerated). If we trace the curve of the eyebrows and the nose, you’ll notice that they are more pronounced, whereas in your drawing, that effect isn’t very noticeable. On the other hand, notice how the lip appears larger and almost overlaps the nose, while the tip of the nose overlaps the eye. In your drawing, this overlap isn’t happening. Remember to draw the Loomis head first, either as a base or as a small sketch, before making the larger drawing. This will give you a better idea of the head’s angle, tilt, and overall orientation.
