Hello! Thought I'd take a swing at it. While I personally feel that the original hands gave off the "Come here" vibe, I can see the they might have felt flat because of the fact that the finders didn't really fold over themselves, which is what I tried to do. I love your subject and how much character she has! I also think while your colors were ok, I think it's the contrast that's getting to you. Don't be afraid to add more highlight or shadow, and make sure you're checking the values to see that they're nice and punchy against each other! (I personally do do this with a hsl layer set to zero saturation in CSP, that way you can easily hide and unhide it whenever you want to check).
