Challenge-of-the-month

Royal Jester boss
Hi! My goal was to create a midcore style character in a medieval world. I was thinking about wayfinder’ish style. Or overwatch if it has a fantasy setting. I am not happy with the costume and shape composition I guess. Not quite sure how I could iterate the design for it to look more like character which belongs in a fantasy-overwatch like game :)

Sword in Fineliner
Mainly I think the struggle was getting my hatching to be varied enough that it does not look the same all around. It turned out quite same'y. Also the pile of stones was hard to figure out how to indicate it.

June 3th submission
June 3th submission. Wanted to have some drama. Thought a lot about the composition. How the clouds point at the lizard together with the spear. And i added cacty? Cactus? cac... -Never mind, to make it feel point and sharp. Might slap some values on this later. But only had about 2 hours for now.

I feel like the base structure is a bit weak and the forms aren't connecting well. Any advice on how to improve the construction and flow?

Artemis study
A couple of sketch studies of Artemis from the game Hades and Hades 2. Trying to get a feel of the rhythm of her design especially her hair. The bottom right is from imagination, trying to visualize what kind of bed hair she would have. I think I have overworked the imagination hair, as I was too busy searching for the right rhythms, and not sure if I have the likeness down. Any advice would be great!

Day 2

checkmate im aussie
This isn't for the june challenge or anything, but i drew these two chess-inspired characters. Since they're based around the knight piece, i wanted there to be a visual motif of three. Three individual shapes found in the nose steam, three splits in the knight's hair thingy, three segments in the handle, you get the point. I just feel like i could've done much more with this concept, or like it's too subtle. Any suggestions? Please let me know!

Hi everyone, I am participating in the June 30 challenge to help me build a habit, become more comfortable with sharing my work, and receive feedback! I've never really taken myself seriously as an artist, and I've always doubted myself, and that is why I am here.

Sketch 01 - The Dragons
Hey! I had a lot of fun making this sketch and I'm looking forward to putting in another entry soon! My biggest challenges were controlling the line weight with the brush pen and smudging the ink likely due to my current brush pen. This is my first upload to the site and would love some feedback! Thank you!
