Hey there! Good work so far! I focused a bit more on the composition and did a simple lighting overpaint. The illustration felt a bit cramped because both the character and the panther were too large, which even made the trees feel small by comparison. What I did was reduce their size slightly and separate them a bit more. Doing this gives the illustration more room to breathe, since it creates more space at the top, a bit more room in the foreground, and even opens up the possibility of adding more background elements. Another important aspect is the separation between the BG, MG, and FG planes, and lighting will help you achieve that. Notice how I added a few more tree silhouettes in the background and also lightened the tree on the right a bit. Think about where the light source is and, therefore, the direction of the light. Assuming the light comes from the left side, it would illuminate that side of the character, while the opposite side would remain in shadow. This also allows you to introduce some ambient lighting using desaturated bluish tones. The tree where the arm is resting can also help separate the character from the panther visually. So, the character and the panther become your midground, while the two trees in the foreground help frame your focal point. I would keep those foreground elements fairly dark.
