Hey! This works well as a color blockout I did a quick pass thinking of a possible solution, assuming the light source comes from the sun. If that’s the case, everything else would mostly be in shadow, since the sun wouldn’t directly light the front—only areas exposed to ambient light would be slightly illuminated (but not with high values). Keeping the character and the tentacles in shadow could add the sense of drama you’re aiming for. Personally, I might go for less warm lighting or something more aligned with suspense. It would help to look for references in films—animated or live-action—and apply that lighting to your piece. Just remember to maintain clear separation between your planes (BG, MG, FG), and make sure your focal point stands out using either “dark on light” or “light on dark.” I also changed the tentacles from yellow to blue so that yellow remains exclusive to the character.
