Really nice drawing there. I love the gesture you’ve given to the foxes. Not sure how big you made it, you may want to consider drawing it bigger next time or using this sketch as a study for a larger piece. When it comes to drawing children, the common mistake is treating them like adults but shorter. Babies, toddlers and children have very different proportions compared to adults. This is due to the way our skulls grow as we get older. The best thing to do is use reference based on the rough age you want to draw the characters as. According to Andrew Loomis, for a young boy or girl the brow line is about half way down. You then divide the lower half of the face into four. The eyes are in the first quarter, the nose in the second and the mouth in the third. The hair line tends to be about a quarter of the way down from the top of the head. However, Loomis suggests that girls have a slightly larger forehead but that is more of a stylistic choice. The other thing to bear in mind is that the younger a child is the more faty-tissue they have. Children, especially infants, tend to have puffy faces and short stubby fingers.
