first of all, i want to say i really like how you construct your figures, it's clear to me you have solid practice with boxes!! because of that, i think your proportions are really good! i think what you need to do now is focus on gesture to make the post less rigid/flat im not a professional, but i have some notes on things i thought about when i tried to draw these references!! i hope they help 1. i noticed in the reference the torso has a lot of foreshortening here, so i traced over the chest, stomach, and hip sections to gauge the ratio of what is present. i noticed in your third drawing there is more stomach showing, which may make it seem the character is standing straighter, thus the pose is less 'dynamic' 2. i recommend you try pushing curves to make your sketches more dynamic! i think because you used a box to construct the chest in the beginning, you lost some of the curves present in the reference. if these aren't anatomy studies, i reccomend you try breaking anatomy rules a bit to make the art more dynamic 3. focusing on negative space/angles can help with accuracy! i outlined the reference's shoulders here because when i want to draw for accuracy, sometimes i focus on the outline/silhouette of the pose. i also used some of the foreshortening tips discussed in #1 earlier overall, if i were to guess the main problem you're having in these sketches, i would say you're sacrificing lines of motion for anatomical accuracy. there isn't anything wrong with this, but in terms of flatness or making art more interesting, gesture is the way to go! your constuction is lovely and i'd love to see more of your art | Artwod Feedback
