Trying to move from construction to some rendering, but I feel like I'm loosing the structure when I do that. Should I not focus as much on rendering and just go with simpler indications?

So I was drawing just the cut and then the box connected to it and was wondering if this is correct, it seems like multiple rounding, it looks correct enough I think atleast

Mostly I feel like the hands don't properly convey the "Come here..." idea i was going for... But also somehow my art always feels really flat and bland, despite my best efforts to make dramatic colorings.

Uhhhhhh forgot to post last week's exercise... it was form manipulation. I don't think i did too poorly, but i definitely made some mistakes, especially in the ellipse-box in the bottom left corner. But what do you all think? Pleas let me know!
