I really recommend the mask method for tough face perspective. Even though Antonio says that the horizontal line across the face (in the first third) is for the placement of the eyes, if you look at a real life picture, it fits more on the eyebrows than the eyes (of course, it depends on the intensity of the artstyle exaggeration). For the side circle, try to think of it as a slice cut on the main sphere instead of a forced random artifact.
