Yo! Looking really good so far! I like both scenes, but especially the close-up in the lower one. Regarding not knowing how to finish a piece: Painting environments is complicated, so try to keep this important rule in mind when working on them: Focus on painting the important areas: the focal point (the building), a bit of the area surrounding the focal point, and the foreground. These are the zones the viewer will spend the most time looking at, so these are the areas where you should invest the most attention and detail. Also, keep in mind that the foreground helps communicate the narrative and context of the environment. Because of that, when painting, always ask yourself what’s happening both in the foreground and around the focal point. Doing this will save you a lot of time compared to fully rendering the entire scene. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with fully painting everything, but there’s usually little benefit in rendering the background with the same level of detail as the midground. For the lower image specifically, I’d suggest adding more narrative. Try to avoid having a scene with only a building, since it can feel a bit empty or lifeless. Think about what’s happening there: Maybe people are arriving at the building, leaving it, or perhaps it’s in ruins and about to be discovered by the foreground character.
