Hey! Interesting perspective! :D Regarding the values, keep in mind that the light source is positioned directly above the bear. Because of that, most of the bear will be in shadow, and only the areas facing the light will have higher values. The head would also cast a shadow onto the character’s chest. As for the fur, try to think about it in layers. The top layers (facing the viewer/light) will be more illuminated, while the spaces between those layers will have darker values, and so on. Also, remember that the fur should follow the direction of the form. Hope this helps!
