Hey! To be honest, it’s a bit difficult to understand what you’re trying to achieve or what you’re struggling with. When you share your work, I highly recommend providing a bit of context about what you’re working on or if there’s something specific you’re having trouble with. This helps people understand you better and give more useful feedback :D Now, the main thing you need to establish is your horizon line. The background seems to have a slightly different perspective from the area where the character is standing. Having a clear horizon line is essential to understanding when objects are above or below it, to define proper vanishing points, and to keep the perspective consistent. Also, I assume the scene takes place somewhere like a forest or near a lake? I’m guessing it’s a forest because of the tree you drew in the foreground. What I did was add more trees to better communicate where the story is taking place, and I arranged them in a way that helps frame the character. You can use the rule of thirds as a starting point, but you can also use other compositional tools such as framing elements, S-curves, C-curves, and similar visual guides. There’s a great book by Edgar Payne where he talks about many of these compositional principles for creating more dynamic illustrations. Lastly, think about the storytelling. What is happening in the scene? What is the character interacting with? You’ll need to answer these kinds of questions, and the clearer your idea is, the stronger the final result will be. Hope this helps! | Artwod Feedback
