Hey there! This is not what you asked for, but I'd suggest changing the pose for a 3/4 view rather than a profile view. This way, you can focus more on the design of the character; a side view wouldn't be ideal for characters. On the other hand, in a 3/4 view, you can have more control over the painting and therefore, make it more visually appealing.

Late post, fell asleep after got back from vacation. I drew these three from references to sharpen my visual library. Probably as much as i needed before hopping into drawing from imagination. To me, there's a lot room for improvements, because these drawing still not great. If you have any advices, truly i'd be grateful to hear it. Ignore the top left, its from yesterday :)
