Yo! Great work here! I really like the dynamism of the pose! As for the values and lighting: The lighting itself doesn’t look bad, but right now the values feel too similar across the entire character. Even in grayscale, the different “materials” of the character should still be distinguishable. For example: Skin tone should not have the same value as the pants. The swords should not match the same value as the hair. Different objects and surfaces should have their own distinct value relationships. Because of this, it’s ideal to use a wider range of values for different parts of the character. Remember: In a value-based image, value is what visually separates forms even before color, texture, or detail. If too many elements share the same value, forms begin to merge together, making the image harder to read. Using the same value range throughout can cause: A flatter appearance Less depth Reduced visual impact Possible confusion in the design If your image reads well in grayscale, it will almost always translate more effectively once color is added. Hope this helps!
