I'm struggling with consistent lighting and getting the background to look natural while not making everything look flat and the main plant blending into the background. This is part of a series of ACEO sized composition tests before I make a larger series of paintings. I used watercolour brush pen and some coloured pencil and fine liners. It is inspired by a real plant, the monstera deliciosa, that I saw at a water park. The leaf scars resemble eyes on the trunk and I thought they'd make great comic book characters. I've never done anything comic book style, so it's not entirely how I imagined, but I still like them and I feel like each iteration is getting better. | Artwod Feedback
