What can I improve?

Crimson king

I made this awhile ago , and I still consider it one of my favorite peices . So I figured it’d be a good start on this feedbac website as one of my “best” . I remember I wish I could’ve made this look more scratchy or the dark skin more like real black skin with spindely fingers. I also have an issue with backgrounds . If you look close enough you can see I just sue a lot of visual noise that kinda looks like what I want, and criticism is welcome
