Some apps allow you to rotate the head so you can see it from different angles. And another that can help you is Reilly's head. That will mostly help you to learn to manipulate proportions by keeping the planes in mind. For dark and light skin tones, look for references to avoid painting from imagination :D The more you study the skin tones, the more you'll "memorize" it and be able to paint from imagination later. Regarding the hair. Think about each mass of hair as a cylinder, at least those at the top that are more important, since they are part of the focal point.
