Hey! Welcome to the world of painting! :D Painting environments can be quite complex when you're just starting out (especially when working in color). Because of that, I would recommend starting with the basics, which are values. Try focusing on studying how values work within an image, not only in environments, but in general, whether it’s characters, still life, etc. It’s crucial to study and understand them, because without a strong value foundation, it doesn’t matter what colors we use in our paintings—our work will end up looking unclear and hard to read. For example, in your painting there seems to be a separation between the ground and the sky, but when I convert it to values you can notice that almost the entire image falls within the same value range. Because of that, there isn’t a clear separation between the foreground, midground, and background, compared to what I did in my example. There’s a roadmap on the ArtWod channel that focuses on the fundamentals of painting, which I highly recommend following if you have the chance. I’d also recommend checking out Jtuffdesigns, where there’s a video called 3 VALUE STUDY Method to LEVEL UP your Paintings! (BEGINNER FRIENDLY), or just look for "values" in the search section on his channel It can help you a lot when starting to get familiar with these concepts. Hope this helps and keep it up! | Artwod Feedback
