I like the scene! However, the lighting isn’t very convincing. I don’t fully understand what the main light source is (although I assume it’s the lighthouse in the background?). On the other hand, the scene is a bit too dark, and some characters get lost in the background due to the similarity in values. For example, the character who is pushing appears as dark-on-dark. Try to always look for the relationship of “light against dark” or “dark against light” to achieve better contrast. Artificial lighting in nighttime scenes can be tricky (at least for me haha), so I usually use references from films where this type of scenario is handled really well. I used a scene from John Wick as a reference, where the light source is placed behind the characters. This helped me solve the issue of having dark characters (the areas not exposed to the light) against a lighter background. All the areas facing the camera would remain dark, since the light is coming from behind. Surfaces exposed to the sky might be slightly illuminated… although, since it’s raining, there isn’t any natural moonlight, which is why I painted everything darker. You could also imagine a light source on the camera side that would justify why certain areas (like the top of the couch) appear brighter. Personally, though, I prefer having the main lighting in the background — I think it adds more drama to the scene. Sorry for taking so long to respond. And sorry for the messy paintover, I was mainly focusing on solving the mood and lighting! :D Feel free to reach out to me on Discord if you have any other questions. Hope this helps!
