Hey there! So cool design, man! I have some minor comments that I hope will help you push your character :) Think of an egg when you paint; that is, the part closest to the light source will be brighter while the other part will be in shadow. Concentrate most of the contrast in values on your focal point and keep a smaller range in the less important areas, the areas that are in shadow. Notice that I increased the focus on the upper part, as I increased the light in that area, as well as on the sword (considering that this would be the second focal point), while keeping the rest of the armour with a low range of values. As for the rendering work. Areas where there are more shadows (such as the leg under the cape or the leg between the cape) are where you could suggest soft or lost edges to let the brain fill in the rest of the missing information. You could subtly use a textured brush to paint the transition between light and shadow on the armour, to suggest a little texture and history. Finally, I straightened the character a little, as he was leaning too much. Hope this helps!
