Hey there! What a work! It looks amazing so far! :D Think about the three planes: background, midground, and foreground. Your foreground would be the exterior of the shop, the midground the character, and your background the books in the back. With that said, think about the separation between planes. You did a great job with the books in the background, but they are not the focal point. Therefore, to reduce visual noise, make their values darker and paint the books with more purple-lilac colours. As for the foreground, since it is fully exposed to the sun, what I did was increase the intensity of the colours and overexpose some areas, removing textures or colour variation in those zones to increase the focus on the character. Lastly, I just increased the warmth on the character where the light hits directly to make it stand out even more. On the other hand, you need to decide where to add texture and where to keep the painting simple. In this case, I chose to paint the character using graphic shapes and hard edges, while keeping the textures on the books and the surroundings to create better contrast. As for the colour, you can add more harmony in your shadows, since the lights are overexposed, and there is no point in adding more colour variation in those areas. Hope this helps!
