Yes I think it's totally possible to render and keep your lines! It depends on what you feel looks ''weird'' as describe in your caption, but looking at this piece, I feel like your rendering and light are pretty solid. So one thing you could maybe experiment with is your lineart itself; I noticed your lines seem to stay pretty consistent in weight and color and that could be part of why your rendering feels a little disconnected from it. You could try varying the line weight a bit, both in thickness and opacity. And I feel like experimenting with coloring the lineart instead of keeping it all the same color could help it blend more naturally with your render! (Not saying you need to do this tho, solid colored lines can be a choice you make for your style) But honestly, I'd recommend looking for artists whose work has the kind of lineart and rendering balance you're trying to achieve and studying how they do it. You don't have to copy their style or anything, but I think breaking down those little choices can make it much easier to figure out what works for your own style! (Some of my favorite artists with this kind of rendering i can think of right now would be Steve Huston and his charcoal drawing or for digital work I'd say PBysheep) I hope this was helpful! And definitely don't give up on your style!! I think you can absolutely make rendering work with it, it might just take some experimenting to figure out what feels right for you. | Artwod Feedback
