Hi there! Cool character! When it comes to lighting in this piece, my advice would be to determine where that lighting is coming from first, and then applying it consistently. What I mean is that on the jacket it looked like the light is coming from in front of the character, but on the hair it seemed like it is coming from above the character. I chose the light from above and then applied that lightsource to everything else, the round headphones, the jacket, the wall,... until I covered everything! I hope this helps you out a little bit! c:
Thanks for the advice. I'm still trying to push into new territory, like, for instance, working with the torso, lighting, and values. I haven't made it to Artwod's portrait or figure section as of yet. I'm currently going off what I learned on my own before Artwod. Form and lighting are key areas I still need to study.
Sounds to me like you have a really good idea of your own progress and what the path ahead looks like! Make sure to take it step by step, and I'm sure you'll get to where you want to be! :D
