Hey! So far, good work, but there are a few adjustments I would make. First, I would change the value of the blue background and make it lighter, since the hair and the background fall within the same tonal range, which causes the hair to get lost against it. On the other hand, I would simplify the values in the clothing a bit more to keep it from stealing attention from the face. Personally, I feel that painting the clothing as if it were a sphere, adding highlights, lighter values, halftones, and dark shadows, draws too much attention to it. Simplifying that area would help bring the focus back to the face. Now, regarding the face: you already have a solid foundation, so at this point, you could push the painting further by achieving smoother transitions between the facial values. I also reduced the darkest blacks a little, since the skin shouldn’t be completely dark even if the character has a darker complexion. Hope this helps! :) | Artwod Feedback
