Love this piece! I think what is going on here is is just some inconsistent lighting and shadow. If you look at the clouds, they suggest the light is coming from the left.That would mean that both clouds should have the shadows on the right side. If you take this lighting que across the piece, all shadows should be consistently on the right. Even the character’s cast shadow should be more following that light. Right now I see some light from the left and some shadows suggest that it’s back lit,etc. Hopefully this helps you and gives you some ideas going forward in terms of choosing a light before jumping into coloring and then just use that light as a guide.
