the blue that you’ve chosen is such a vibrant and beautiful color! also, the lore about adding ribbons is very interesting for building both character and narrative depth into your designs. one thing that i find always helps items like this one appear more menacing is the implication of weight (especially when it’s distributed asymmetrically favoring the damaging end, implying that the wielder must have considerable strength and that all damage dealt will likely be very profound). for this pickaxe, you might consider adding some sort of clamp or metallic border at the intersection point between the crystal and the end of the device to make the crystal look like it’s held tightly in place and like it takes up more space. you also might consider making the crystal bigger and sharper in general, and perhaps straightening out the staff to which it’s attached would also help with communicating the durability of this item as both an heirloom and a potential weapon. i’ve included a draw-over that attempts to implement the above changes. i hope that this helps, friend! ❤
