Hallo
hallo
it’s a work in progress so it currently doesn’t look as great, but I'm having a rather hard time figuring out how to render and part his hair correctly (especially the white strands since they stick out like a sore thumb). The line work itself isn’t really to my liking, and not the best quality it could be. tips for anything on this in general is very much appreciated as I’m still in the awkward / inbetween stage.
Hallo

Im no professional artist so take this with a grain of salt! I fixed the hair a bit since it was slightly uneven and the form was quite awkward. I muted down the light strands so they wouldn't stand out as much. For the rendering I added a dark rim around the crown of the hair. Then lightly brushed some darker grays beneath. I added shadows to distinguish the different sections of the hair. Also added shadows around the edges to show more depth and distinguish between the back hair and front hair. I also added a dark black outline I added a bit of blush because chibis usually have that more cutey look. And since chibis have minimal face rendering it adds a nice touch and makes it match the hair more. Changed the pupils a little bit since they looked a little wonky.
thank you so much! it really does help seeing it from someone else’s perspective, it looks amazing and a lot more than what I can currently do. If it’s not much of an issue, could I ask how exactly you blended out his hair? I’d love to get your feedback on the finished piece as well if totally possible! (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) i also really love the blush and eye detail, i originally added a tiny bit but it wasn’t very noticeable.

by asking how you blended his hair I specifically meant to ask what brushes and or program you used, along with the color palette just to go into a little depth of what I’m asking so it’s not super confusing. probably should’ve specified in the first comment, my apologies! (╥ ᴗ ╥)
